Virginia L. "Ginny" Chromiak, 92 of Catasauqua passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Born in Catasauqua, she was the youngest of 7 children of the late Marvin and Clara (Schmoyer) Smith. She was the loving wife of Robert W. Chromiak with whom she shared 71 years of marriage this past April.
Affectionately known as "Ginny" she was a graduate of Catasauqua High School. She was a secretary for several businesses in Catasauqua. After her children were grown, she worked as a cafeteria worker for Catty School District. Above all, she found joy in being a homemaker and being a hands-on mother to her children. Ginny was a long-time member of St. John U.C.C. – Howertown. She was a woman full of life, love, and warmth whose kindness touched everyone she met. She took pride in everything she did. She was very artistic. She enjoyed beading and needlework. She found joy in gardening and was a member of the Catty Garden Club. She was a long-time member of Curves and occasionally met with the ladies she met while there. She was a Penn State University season ticket holder and traveled to almost every stadium in the "Big 10".
Ginny's legacy of love, kindness and strength will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved her. Those left to cherish fond memories include her husband Robert W. "Wabs" Chromiak, children Gregg Chromiak and wife Donna of Catasauqua, Leslie Richie and fiancé Michael Hoch of Catasauqua, Gary Chromiak and wife Toni Zuper of Lansdowne, Jane Super and husband Neil Super of Shepherdstown, WV; grandchildren Helene, Marissa, Nicholas, Cara, Daniel, Lauren, Michelle, Lindsay, Courtney, Erin and Katy; great grandchildren, Maren, Lena, Thomas, Benjamin, Jackson and Everett. She was predeceased by her 6 siblings and daughter Christine L. Chromiak.
There will be a memorial service on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Martin Nuscher will follow in the parlor at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the church or the ALS Foundation c/o the funeral home. Online memories, condolences, and photos for the family may be shared at www.brubakerfuneralhome.com. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Catasauqua is entrusted with the arrangements.

Your heart soon will be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. May she rest in peace and may God welcome her with open arms. Even though I only met her once when I went to meet my brother for the first time she welcomed me and my daughter Kathy with kindness and true understanding. I wish I had known her longer in my life I know she would have been an a special friend . Sympathy to all of the Wilson family and God bless you all.
