Virginia Colosi-Geisler (Warren) of North Beach, MD passed away at the age of 78 on July 11, 2025 from complications following heart valve surgery. Virginia, who was known as Ginger, was born in Artesia, NM on December 7, 1946 to Isom and Bette (Houchin) Warren, Jr. In 1965, she married Francis R. Colosi, who was known as Frank, and moved to Massachusetts, living in Dorchester, Brockton and ultimately Shrewsbury, where they raised their children. Ginger received an Associates Degree from Quinsigamond Community College and graduated with a B.S. from Assumption College in 1989. Ginger and Frank later moved to Grapevine, TX where they eventually divorced. In 2006 at St. Rita's Church in Dallas, TX, Ginger married Charles W. Geisler, who is known as Chuck. They lived outside Austin, TX before moving to North Beach, MD in 2009.
Ginger had an incredible zest for life. She seemed to have an endless supply of energy for her family, for her work, for her very deep friendships, and for the many varied projects for which she volunteered. Ginger somehow found it possible to get 28 hours out of a day. She made everyone around her feel seen and heard on a deep level. In her fierce love for her family and her endless devotion to her friends, she was nothing short of a force of nature.
A devout Catholic, Ginger believed faith was rooted in service. Throughout her life, she volunteered her time and talents for those less fortunate than she. Ginger had a ferocious sense of justice for the downtrodden, for prisoners, for the homeless and hungry, and especially for children. Her generosity of spirit touched countless lives and her impact on people was profound. Ginger and Chuck were also pillars of the St. Anthony Catholic Church community and prayed together daily.
Ginger had an unmistakable sense of herself. She was a straight talker and had no patience for anyone who was trying to put something over. Her insistence on honesty usually came with charm or humor or warmth, and it was almost always rooted in love and loyalty. Ginger would offer candid advice about a problem or opportunity, but then she would go above and beyond to help you achieve the best outcome. She will be deeply, deeply missed.
Ginger was predeceased by her parents and her first husband. She is survived by her children, Michael F. Colosi of New York, NY, Robert W. Colosi (Jennifer) of Owings, MD, Elizabeth Colosi Bennett (Gabriel) of Eureka, CA, and Michelle LeDuc (Christopher) of Marlboro, MA, her grandchildren Ryan Trank, Maria Colosi, Sicily-Ana Coppolino, Sophia Colosi, Chrysanthemum Bennett, Teresa Lemm (Jace), Ian Bennett, Anthony Colosi, Ava Bennett, Gianna Colosi, Samantha Randall, Emma Colosi, Liliana Colosi and Cecilia Colosi, her great grandchild Tatum Trank, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to viewing hours from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Rausch Funeral Home, Owings, MD. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, North Beach, MD with a burial to follow at Jesus the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Owings, MD. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Ladies of Charity of Calvert County Food Pantry where Ginger volunteered for many years.
