Virginia Lee "Ginny" Gibson, age 82, passed away August 11, 2024, at her home in Painesville Twp. She was born February 7, 1942, in East Cleveland, Ohio to the late Orsen and Josephine (Fiocco) Darling. She was born and raised in Ohio and had resided in Ft. Pierce, Florida for 26 years before moving back to Ohio.
Ginny retired from Riverside Local Schools as a Cafeteria Chef. She loved gardening and flowers. She also loved baking and cooking meatballs and meatloaf for her family and doing crafts. She took pride in making her home and spending time with her family was her greatest joy. Ginny was a longtime member of Painesville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons Thomas Bandelow of Anchorage, Alaska and Todd (Jane) Bandelow of Mentor, Ohio and her daughter Christina "Tina" Carpenter of Painesville Twp., grandchildren Megan Bandelow, Sarah (John) Everett, Ryan Carpenter, Rachel Carpenter and great grandchildren Aubrie Everett and Alan Sexton and nephew David (Susan) Thomlinson. She was preceded in death by her husbands Don E. Geddis and Robert L. Gibson, sisters Barbara Ann Randall and Jean Marie Tomlinson.
The family will receive friends September 3, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory,368 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. A Celebration of Ginny's Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Gerald D. Kalb officiating. A private burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
