North Augusta, SC Mrs. Virginia "Jo" Dabbs Hodge, 97, wife of 67 years to the late William J. Hodge, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Stevens Park Health and Rehab.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025 at First Baptist Church of North Augusta with Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Hodge was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta where she taught Sunday School, was an active member of Strom Fellowship, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her church family. She was a voracious reader and had read The Bible in its entirety twice. She enjoyed cooking, baking, coloring, and crafts. What brought her the most joy however, was her grandchildren, whom she loved more than life itself.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hodge Payne; her son Jamie Hodge (Carrie); her grandchildren, Coy Hill Payne, III (Emily), Allie Hodge Motz (Charlie), and William James "JT" Hodge, III; and her great grandchildren, Trystin and Jaycen. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Susan Hodge; her brothers, Donald and Bobby Jean; and her sisters, Madeline, Avadell, Elizabeth, and Betty Jean.
Pallbearers will be Coy Payne, JT Hodge, Charlie Motz, Danny Weldon, Michael Baldy, and Eric Wiggins.
The family would like to extend heartfelt and deep appreciation to MYD Services, Helping Hands Hospice, Affinis Hospice, as well as the staff at The Claiborne at West Lake and Stevens Park Health and Rehab.
