"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".
Virginia Ellen Lauble (nee Bohmler) went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 85 years old. Affectionately known as "Ginny" to most, she was born on August 13, 1939, in Trenton, NJ to Walter and Margaret Bohmler (nee Tomlinson).
A lifelong resident of Newtown, PA, Ginny graduated from Council Rock High School in 1957, the second of four generations to graduate from Council Rock. Faith was the center of Ginny's life, and as a follower of Jesus, being active in church was a big part of that. Early on, she was a member of Newtown Baptist Church where she attended with her family. One of her great joys was singing in the choir at Davisville Baptist Church.
She worked as a secretary in Council Rock School District, starting in the Athletic Office and working her way up to the Head of Payroll until she retired in 2005. A self-proclaimed "local yocal", Ginny spent most of her life between Newtown and Holland, PA before moving to Bolivia, NC, a small coastal town, in 2022.
Ginny held many titles in her lifetime, but the ones she wore most proudly were the ones of Mom and Nana. Ginny is survived by her two daughters, Carol Bissinger (Bob) and Debbie McCabe (Tom), her three granddaughters, Brittany Guy, Kristen McDonald (Tommy), and Marissa Guy, and her great-granddaughter, Maggie McDonald. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Theodore Bohmler.
A celebration of life service will be held at Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home in Newtown, PA on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11am, with the family receiving line beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse in Ginny's name so that others may come to hear the Gospel and begin their relationship with Jesus Christ.
The mission of Samaritan's Purse is to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel. Ginny lived her life on mission and her family cannot think of a better way to honor her life and continue her legacy of faith and generosity than sharing the Good News.
