Virginia Darlene Linderwell, 83, of Earlville, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at The Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Seibert Hall at Seibert Park, 508 Quaker Mill Drive in Manchester. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Lamont Cemetery.
Virginia was born April 29, 1942, in Patch Grove, Wisconsin, the daughter of Dale and Julia (George) Jones. She was a 1960 graduate of Edgewood High School and went on to work for Walmart and Farm Fleet as a cashier. On September 16, 1961, Virginia was united in marriage to Kenneth Leroy Linderwell Sr. at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She enjoyed baking, cooking, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and trips to the casino. Virginia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Melody Linderwell and her children, Tyler Stumpf, Jillian (Daniel) León, and Reed Stumpf; son, Ken (Wanda) Linderwell Jr. and their children, Austin (Jess) and Garrett (Sara) Linderwell; son, Aaron (Cherrie) Linderwell and their sons, Alex (Marin) and Dylan; four great-granddaughters, Harper, Eleanor, Layla and Mabel; two great grandsons, Blake Hay and Javier León; siblings, Pat Hulshizer, Diane (Les) Maruquin, and Joe (Jinny) Jones; brother-in-law, Jerry Thein; sisters-in-law, Sharon Allen, Sharon Linderwell, and Luella Linderwell; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Kenneth Linderwell Sr.; two sisters, Phyllis Thein, and Jan Spurgin.
Memorials in Virginia’s memory may be directed to the family.
