Virginia A. (Rowlee) Martin passed away on April 7, 2025 in State College, PA. She was born on March 25, 1942 in Fulton, NY to the late Byron and Ella (Hammond) Rowlee, Sr. Virginia married Alton Martin in 1962. They had 47 wonderful years together before he passed away in 2010.
They raised their family in MD and after retiring, they spent most of their time in Addy, WA where they loved being part of Al's extended family. Virginia graduated from Crouse Irving School of Nursing in 1962 and was an R.N. for over 20 years before retiring. She remained close friends with many of her fellow nursing graduates and enjoyed getting together with them when she could. Virginia was an avid sewer and quilter and was a member of local quilting groups. She was particularly proud of the Quilts of Valor which she made to honor Veterans.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Sutton, and her brother Byron Rowlee, Jr. Surviving Virginia are her children, Lesa (Jeff) Yeager of State College, PA; her son, Michael Martin of Henrico, VA; her five grandchildren, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces, numerous cousins and some very dear friends whom she cherished very much. She is also survived by her beloved in-laws, the Grimm family of Addy, WA.
Per Virginia's wishes there will be no formal services.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home. An online guestbook may be signed and condolences left for the family at www.hakygeorgianafh.com.
