Virginia Ann (Brade) Strucinski, 92, of Broadway, NC, died Monday, July 7, 2025 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, Bolivia, NC. She was born August 27, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Otto and Blanche (Van Hautte) Brade.
Virginia grew up in Kinde, Michigan and graduated valedictorian in 1950 from Kinde Public Schools. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois in 1954 and a Master of Arts degree from Central Michigan University in 1964. She was certified to teach music and art in all grades and any subject kindergarten through eighth grade.
Virginia began her teaching career in Michigan at Sebewaing High School where she taught music and art. On July 11, 1965, she married the love of her life Walter F. Strucinski at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, Michigan. They celebrated 55 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Virginia and Walt raised their family and operated a business in Lapeer, Michigan before moving to North Carolina.
One of Virginia's greatest joys came from teaching children. She touched many lives in Michigan, Illinois, and North Carolina. Throughout her life she was involved in many musicals, productions, and concerts; along with playing piano and organ for many different churches. She loved her family, all children, music, art, and especially "tickling the ivories".
Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Ann Weingartz and husband Brian, Lynn Streeter and husband Todd; three granddaughters, Ashley Weingartz, Savannah Streeter, Reagan Streeter and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her brother Don (Sally) Brade of Kinde, Michigan; brothers-in-law Don Bunt of Orland Park, Illinois, and Kenneth (Carol) Nolen of Tucson, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her sisters' Marilyn Bunt, Judith Nolen, Joyce Koglin and sisters and brothers–in-law Martha Brade, Marvin Koglin, Florence Sypniewski, and Bobby Sypniewski.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 4:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC 27330.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or your charity of choice. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Virginia, please visit our floral store.
