Virginia Carolyn Walp, age 84, a resident of Santa Fe, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, with David Morris officiating. Entombment will follow at Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Virginia was born on December 17, 1939, in Jackson, Michigan, to the late Richard Mills and the late Hilda Schmittling. She retired after more than 15 years with Wolfe Enterprises. Virginia had a love for gardening, cultivating beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables. She also enjoyed fishing, baking, and was an active member of Highland Church of Christ. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Virginia was also devoted to her beloved cat, Bella.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James Walp, Jr.; her children, James Linwood (Leanne) Walp, John Wesley Walp, and Chrystina Ann Walp; her sister, Arleen Edmunds; and her grandchildren, Jackson Walp, Layne Miersen, and Michael Walp.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred Mills and Clifford Mills, and her sister, Marilyn Fowler.
Pallbearers will be John Wesley Walp, Chip Davis, Zachary Davis, Jacob Davis, John Wayne Williams, and Dudley Daniel.
