Vivian Hanson

Vivian Jean (Flagel) Hanson, 92, of LaMoure, North Dakota, formerly of Fullerton, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025 at the LaMoure Nursing Home.

Vivian was born on December 17, 1933, in Forbes, North Dakota, to Alexander and Leontina (Fisher) Flagel. She attended Monango Public School and graduated with the Class of 1952. Vivian spent most of her life in the Monango and Fullerton areas and most recently made her home in LaMoure, North Dakota.

Vivian was united in marriage to Oscar Hanson on September 13, 1953, in Monango, North Dakota. Together, they were blessed with seven children.

Vivian worked for over 25 years as a waitress and cook at the Fullerton Ranch House, where she truly enjoyed her time and the people she worked with. She found great joy in baking, especially her homemade buns and kuchen, which were loved by many.

Vivian is survived by her children: Oscar "Junior" Hanson of Davenport, North Dakota; John Hanson of Wahpeton, North Dakota; Larry (Sheila) Hanson of LaMoure, North Dakota; Kathy (Ed) Selzler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Mary (Harvey) Krohn of Cokato, Minnesota; and Nancy (Duane) Volk of Chandler, Arizona. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oscar Hanson, and her daughter, Cheryl Thomas.

A funeral service will be held at the Presbyterian Church in LaMoure, North Dakota, on Saturday, January 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the service at the Holy Rosary Parish Hall in LaMoure. Vivian's service will be live streamed below. Burial will take place at a later date in Mapleview Cemetery, Fullerton, North Dakota.
