Vivian Elaine Larson, age 86, of Lisbon, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, surrounded by family.

Vivian was born on March 31, 1939, to Bennie and Mildred Olson. She grew up in the Stirum-Crete, ND area, graduating from Oakes High School in 1959. Later that same year, on August 30, she married John Larson, in Gwinner, ND. Together they made their home in Gwinner, raising three daughters and working side by side in their family businesses, John's Construction and VJ's Laundromat. They did make a move to Lisbon in the 80s and made a home there.

Vivian's life was filled with faith, family, and community. She was a dedicated member of Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church in Gwinner and Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon. She enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, and card games, and she never missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite teams - the Vikings, Twins, and NDSU Bison. But more than anything, she cherished time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.

She leaves behind her daughters Kimberly (Loren) Lunde of Lisbon, ND, Peggy (Patrick) Bruflat of New London, MN, and Kathy (Scott) Wolsky of Fargo, ND; her grandchildren Coltyn and Jena Penberthy, Stephanie and Derek Koenen, Bryar and Samantha Penberthy, Brandi Hansen and Matt Baker, Marcus and Brooklyn Bruflat, and Kodi Hansen; step-grandchild Jena Lovaas; seven great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and brothers Dick, Jim, and Jerry Olson.

Vivian is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, John; her parents; her infant daughter, Paula Kay; and her brothers Dennis and Tom Olson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon. Burial will be at Gwinner City Cemetery near Gwinner. Vivian's service will be live streamed below.
