Vivian Lorraine Mau, nee Zeman, of Hot Springs Village, passed away on December 13, at a private care residence in Hot Springs. Vivian was born May 7, 1919 in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Lydia Zeman. She grew up in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. After graduation from Waller High School, Vivian attended Moser business school, married Kenneth on June 8, 1940, and worked off and on as a secretary, ending her career as an Executive Assistant to the president of one of Bell & Howell's international divisions. Vivian retired in 1982. While raising her children, Vivian was very active in their elementary school activities and served as president of the Norwood Park PTA in the mid-1950s. She moved to the Village with her husband, Ken, in 1986 and built a home on Lake Coronado. She served on many committees of various clubs in the village and was a member of the Merry Mixers and Village Dance clubs. Vivian enjoyed golf, dancing, traveling, playing bridge and pinochle, and entertaining their many friends. Her sweet and sparkling personality and her beautiful smile will be deeply missed. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth, in December, 2010, her parents, and a brother, Arthur F. Zeman, Jr. Vivian is survived by her daughter Sandra (Kenneth) Andersen, of Palatine, IL; one son, Donald Mau, of Hot Springs, AR; one sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Zeman of Peoria, AZ; two grandchildren, Scott (Catherine) Andersen of Palatine, IL; Sheri (Christopher) Schremp of Crystal Lake, IL; five great-grandchildren, Colleen, Jack and Amy Andersen, Kylie and Margaret Schremp, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Village United Methodist Church, 200 Carmona Rd., HSV, on Monday, December 29th at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made in honor of Vivian to Village United Methodist Church, Good Samaritan Society in Hot Springs Village, or any children's charity of your choice.
