Vivian M. Woodin, age 82 & a resident of Middletown, New York entered into eternal rest at her home on Sunday evening January 12 th, 2025.
Vivian was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 9 th, 1942, daughter of Jesse Bunn and Vivian Brown. "Martha" as she was affectionately referred to by family, graduated from George W. Wingate High School in 1960. Her professional career included employment for over 15 years at IBM in East Fishkill, New York where she worked in the microelectronics division.
She also entered the health care industry and became a certified nursing aide. In retirement, the city girl became a country girl. Vivian loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and hens and going on antiquing expeditions in Lake George, New York with her husband Kenneth who predeceased her in August 2011. She also reaffirmed her Catholic faith as a parishioner at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bullville, New York.
Vivian is survived by her children David, Charles (Melissa), and Carriel. Grandchildren Patrice, Danita, Gary, Jr, Deardra, Matika-mae, Jazzmine, Jaiydah, Elena, Alexis and her great grandchildren. Siblings, John (Lymris), Norma, Ronald, Tony, Gainelle, Michael and Eugenia. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her husband Kenneth, Vivian was predeceased by her parents Jesse and Vivian, brother Herbert, sister Medina, daughter Deirdra and grandson Jaheime.
May she rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Visitation will take place at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue in Middletown, NY on Tuesday January 21 st from 12:00pm-2:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm in the funeral home.
