Vizell Robbins Jr. 88 of Laurel Hill Florida, born July 9, 1933 Laurel Hill, Florida, was education in the Okaloosa County School Systems, he accepted the Lord at an early age joining Mount Zion Baptist Church, Laurel Hill, Florida where he later became head Deacon, he also served as Sunday School Superintendent and adult Sunday School Teacher. He transitioned to be with the Lord, early Wednesday morning April 27, 2022. He heard the Master call his name and he answered yes Lord I'm ready. Proceeding him in death are his parents, Vizell and Mary Robbins, his beautiful wife of 60 years Jewel Robbins, sister Irene (Leonard) Peacock, granddaughters Mary Robbins-Bradberry, Teresa Renee Matthews, great grandson, Zion Brown, grandson Marquez Latimer, Sister in laws Delores Robbins, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Deloris Robbins Laurel Hill, Florida, EulaJean (Benjamin) Blackshear, Hannah (Willie) Blackshear Willie Mae (Charles) Coleman, Lois Foreman, Brother in laws, Ed Lee Foreman, Benjamin Eady, Mother in Law, Annie Laura (HB) Foreman. He leaves behind to cherish sweet memories his seven daughters, Carolyn (James) Williams, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Joyce (Fred) Matthews, Sherrill (Bobby) Bradberry, Earnestine (Johnny) James, all of Laurel Hill, Florida, Renee (Fliery) Robinson Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda (Mark) Simon, Tampa, Florida, Michelle McCaskill, Callaway Florida, Two sons Vizell (Tonya) Robbins lll, Land O Lakes, Florida, Jeffery (Cheryl) Robbins, Crestview, Florida. Parks, Jr., and Richard James Toles, They also provided loving care for a host of foster children. They also leaves to mourn A host of nephews, nieces Cousins, friends. Vizell was a community Leader, who became the first Black City Councilman and the first black to fill the seat of Mayor, of Laurel Hill, Florida, he served as first Deacon of Mount Zion MBC, he loved singing and playing the guitar, he was part of a singing group called the gospel Aires, who sang in many churches in our area. He also formed a singing group of his children, granddaughter, brother and friend known as the Robbins family singers. He loved his family, his grands and great grands, bought him much joy. Most of all He loved His Lord. After serving two years in the US Army he returned home to raise his growing family, he was in the pulpwood and logging business before eventually going to Correctional Officer School, to become a Corrections Officer, Okaloosa State Prison for fifteen years. The family wishes to thank the staff of Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for the excellent care provided for our beloved father, he loved each and everyone administrative as well as the awesome Nursing staff, and therapy teams they were all very caring and professional.

It is a sad loss for us but a glorious gain for Heaven. I worked with Bro. Vizell at OCI and will remember him for his kindness and his faithful service.

I´m so very sorry for your loss! He was my yogi! He will be missed! I took care of him for years but he was like family to me. I know you will miss him but he is with his Jewel!

My deepest condolences to Vizell's family. He was a wonderful brother. A gentle yet strong character. A kind and stately man. He will be missed yet for a short while. I look forward to seeing him again in glory.
