Vontana "Von" Ball, Jr. was born on April 22, 1945, in the quaint town of Stocksville, NC. He was a gentle spirit, a loving husband, a cherished father, and a loyal friend whose presence brightened the lives of all who knew him. On June 16, 2025, his journey on Earth came to a peaceful close, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.
From 1979 to 2001, Von proudly served as the Tool Room and Die Supervisor at AMETEK Lamb Electric, where he applied his talents as a machinist, die maker, and graphic designer. Known for his keen eye for detail and relentless drive to improve, he was always innovating—constantly finding better ways to get the job done and inspire those around him.
Beyond his career, he was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord with all his heart. He cherished the simple joys of life—hunting, fishing, and collecting—and had a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature. He loved his country and lived with integrity. He loved his family with a fierce and steady devotion. He was a constant source of strength, encouragement, and warmth to those he loved. He adored his wife of 60 years, and shared with her a bond built on love, and unwavering partnership. His children and grandchildren brought him immense pride and joy. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family—rooted in faith, love, and the countless memories shared.
Von's life was rich with love and laughter. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Cheyanne Lynn Ball, with whom he shared countless memories of joy and companionship. Their bond was an inspiring testament to love's enduring strength. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and warmth. He also leaves behind sister and family, Betty Ball Hall Gaydon, John Hall (Cindy), John Hall Jr., Jordan Hall, Brook Hall Andrews (Justin), Hunter and Jackson Andrews, Holden Hall, Taylor Hall (Dewayne), Reeci Hall Doss (Logan).
He was incredibly proud of his children, Tammy Siegner (Andy), Richard Ball (Astrid); grandchildren, Drew Siegner, Lance Siegner, Trey Siegner, and Ace Von Ball, who carry forward his nurturing spirit and the values he instilled in them. The joy that Von found in his family was evident in every shared moment, every smile, and every story.
In mourning, we remember those who awaited him beyond, including his father, Vontana Ball, Sr.; his mother, Alma Shue Ball; and his nephew, Steven Hall. Though they departed this world earlier, their love and fond memories continue to resonate in the hearts of those they left behind.
Family and friends are invited to honor Von's memory during a visitation at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory in Burlington, NC, on June 24, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM. This will be followed by a heartfelt funeral service, beginning at 2:00 PM, in celebration of his life and love. He will then be laid to rest during at Alamance Memorial Park at 3:00 PM, where we will gather to say our final goodbyes.
