They celebrated their 44th anniversary this year. Wade worked for Sanders Lead Company for 39 years. When he was not working, he enjoyed a good game of golf, an Alabama Football win, and spending time with his greatest blessings, his grand-loves. Wade was a crafted carpenter and did many jobs for local citizens throughout his lifetime. He took pride in his work and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents R.O. and Idell Griggs; sisters, Linda Griggs Allen, Carolyn Griggs Mann, and brother, Larry Alan Griggs.
Wade leaves behind his loving, care-giving wife, Cindy Griggs; two daughters, Ericka (Clay) Register and Tamara (Daren) Potter; four grandchildren, Isabella Register, Nathan Register, Logan Potter, and Brady Register; one grandson-in-love, Gage Potter; siblings Donnie (Kathy) Griggs, Dolly Norris, and R.O. Griggs Jr; a host of nieces and nephews; work family at Sanders Lead Company; and many other family members and close friends. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Alan Young of Dothan, Alabama for many years of friendship and service as his primary care physician; Dr. Mac Barnes and staff at the Montgomery Cancer Center; volunteers of the Nikki Mitchell Foundation; and the multitude of friends and family that have supported and prayed for Wade and family throughout his illness.
Flowers will be accepted. If you wish to do a memorial, the family would like memorials to be made to Nikki Mitchell Foundation. Memorials can be sent to P.O. Box 68305 Nashville, TN 37206.
