Walden Vincent Mobley
8/22/1962 9/7/2025
Walden Vincent Mobley, 63, known by friends and family as Vince, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, in Clovis California, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on August 22, 1962 to parents Loretta and Walden Mobley, Vince was the youngest of three children. The family endured heartbreak early on with the sudden passing of his father when Vince was 3 years old. His mother later remarried Harlan Poole, a man who shared his passions of RV camping with Vince and embraced him as a son.
After graduating Clovis high school, Vince proudly served in the United States Navy, where he dedicated several years of his life to his country. His time in the Navy instilled a sense of discipline, responsibility, and camaraderie, qualities he carried with him through his life.
Upon completion of his service duties, Vince returned home where he met Jan. They went on to marry and were blessed with a son Jacob, followed by a daughter, Connor. When their kids were young many happy memories were created riding dirt bikes in the desert, camping, visiting national parks in their RV, and traveling through Europe and Alaska. Vince enjoyed coaching his children in Soccer and Baseball while they were in school. He was so very proud of them.
Vince had a variety of passions that defined his life. A true hands-on enthusiast, he was known for his impressive mechanical skills-whether working on cars, motorcycles, or almost anything with an engine, there was nothing Vince couldn't fix. His love of motorcycles led to countless hours spent riding dirt bikes with his friends and his brother-in-law, sharing the joy of adventure.
Vince worked for Caltrans for 23 years before his retirement in 2020. During his career, he was known as a dedicated and hardworking employee, building a reputation for reliability and friendship. He made many lifelong connections with his colleagues and was often remembered as someone who could always be counted on. While working at Caltrans, Vince often encountered broken hearted, abandoned dogs which he promptly brought home and they became family. His heart for animals was so big!
After retirement, Vince and Jan, were fortunate enough to enjoy some wonderful RV trips together. His life may have been cut short but while he was here he lived fully.
Vince's spirit, humor, mechanical brilliance and adventurous nature will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, joy, and a deep love for his family and friends. His steadfast faith in Christ was an important part of his life that never ceased during the tough times and heartache of losing his son and other family members. This faith brought him great peace during his illness.
He was proceeded in death by his father Walden Lloyd Mobley, his mother Loretta Poole, step father Harlan Poole, his brother Dwain Mobley, his father-in-law Stan Meyers and his son Jacob Garrett Mobley. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Jan Mobley; their daughter Connor and her husband Joey Ferreira. Additionally he is survived by his sister Donna Mott, his step-sister Linda Howe, mother-in-law, Betty Meyers, sister-in-law Susan Coats and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Gigi Meyers, along with nephews, nieces and countless friends.
