Wallace Dewitt Harris ( De), age 86, of Dawsonville, GA., passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
A man of many names to his family. He was Honey, Daddy, Papa, Pops, and Poppy to his friends. He was De or Cigar, the little man that drove the big 18 wheeler, is how most would describe him. He spent his days mowing his grass if you know you know, working in his shop fixing anything someone had brought to him. He could fix anything. Daddy had a few loves in his life, the first being our mama, she was his true love, if you seen one you seen them both. He loved his 4 girls, 1 son, 2 sons in law, 24 grandkids,16 great grandkids,1 great great granddaughter, and he loved to talk. When you think about the size of our family it’s all because two people fell in love. They were married for 55 years. Daddy has two men he looked up to, the first being his Dad the second was Donald Trump. Daddy had an opinion about most things and you got to hear it even if you didn’t ask for it. He also had great stories. Our dad will be remembered most for being a loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend. His passion for life was unlike most from boating, motorcycles, trucks, tractors, and camping. He loved life and he lived it to the fullest for 86 years. He was preceded in death his wife, Bernice Harris; his father, Wallace Harris and his mother, Donna Harris; his brother, Kent Harris.
He is survived by daughters, Tammy (Tony) Combs, Tanna Williams, Tracie Sippel, and Toni (Eddie) Martin; son, Steve Yoder; sister, Chery ( De) Babcock.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1:00pm - 6:00pm at the funeral home.
