Wallace McCray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Road on Dec. 9, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Wallace "Bo" McCray. He departed this life on December 5,2025. Born in Kenmont, Ky to Ella Mae and Herbert McCray. Our dad lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, and a deep devotion to his family. He was a simple man who found joy not in material possessions, but in the quiet moments of everyday life: tending to his garden, sharing a hearty laugh with neighbors, and teaching his children the value of honesty and a job well done. A dedicated coal miner for over 30 years, he approached his work with diligence and skill. His greatest legacy, however, is the strength of the family he built. "Bo" is survived by his children, Annette Simpson (Sean), of Kingston, TN, Shaunna Hines (Blake) of Travelers Rest, SC, Misty Brumley (Greg) of Nicholasville, KY, and Jerry McCray (Ben) of Lexington, KY ; step-daughter, Jamie Brewer; his grandchildren, Christopher Simpson (Callie), George Triantafillou, Stephane Velez (Joseph), Katilyn Triantafillou, Ella Triantafillou, Skyler Brumley, and Wyatt Brumley. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength and unwavering love that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. He is survived by his loving sisters and brothers: Phillis Feltner, Donnie McCray, Dean Messer, Lennie Messer, Thomas Messer, and Shane Messer. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Carol Elson, Tina Griggs, Billy Messer, and Jerry McCray A visitation will be held on December 13, 2025, from 3-6 pm at Kerr Brother's funeral home, Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, Ky.
