Walter J. Huzzy, 78, of Hightstown, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Capital Health Systems, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Princeton, Walt lived in Jamesburg and Monroe before coming to Hightstown when he was in middle school. Shortly after settling in Hightstown, he met his future wife Pat. After graduating from Hightstown High School with the Class of '66, Walt went on to trade school where he became a master barber. He opened Walt's Hair Cutting in town and was the owner for the past 58 years.

When he wasn't working at his barbershop, Walt enjoyed relaxing with a good game of cards-especially poker. He also found joy in reading, working on word searches, and watching his favorite television shows. A proud Yankees fan, his shop was filled with memorabilia that reflected his lifelong loyalty to the team. He loved listening to 1950s classic rock and roll between customers, filling the shop with the music he cherished and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. But above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his six grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Predeceased by his father, Jacob Huzzy; his mother, Frances Hutchinson; his step-father, John Hutchinson, and his sister, Caroline Joy Huzzy; he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (Valko) Huzzy; his children and their spouses, Robert and Lien Huzzy, Kimberly Huzzy and Paul Simansky, Rebecca Huzzy and Brett Cohen, and his grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, Lila, Carter, Benjamin, and Eve.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Avenue, Hightstown, NJ.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.

Mr. Huzzy,

You are truly a kind and wonderful person, when my father was sick you lifted his spirits when he came for his haircut. I wish you peace, and my prayers are with your family now and always. Thank you for your kindness and laughter.
