Walter P. Biggett, a devoted family man and lifelong Brooklyn resident, passed away on April 5, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York. He was 74 years old.
Born on September 18, 1950, in Brooklyn, Walter spent his formative years in the borough he would always call home. He graduated from high school in Brooklyn and went on to attend a year at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in lower Manhattan, laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication.
Walter began his professional journey with the New York Post before transitioning into apartment renovations throughout the city. However, it was with LSG Sky Chefs that he found his true calling. Over more than three decades with the company, Walter built a respected career and retired in 2018 after over 30 years of service. He received numerous accolades for his work as a shop steward and was very proud to have been elected by his peers. His commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Walter was known for his deep love of basketball, music, and video games-interests that brought joy to his daily life and connected him with those around him. A self-proclaimed basketball fanatic, he could often be found immersed in the game he loved. His passion for music added rhythm to his world, while video games offered moments of fun and connection with family. Walter's warmth extended far beyond hobbies. He was a loving family man whose presence brought comfort and laughter to those fortunate enough to know him. Known as a great conversationalist with an infectious laugh, he had a gift for making people feel seen and heard. His kindness and humor made him beloved by almost everyone he met.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons Walter F. Biggett and Blake Campbell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward his memory with affection. Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife Esther Biggett and son Richard Biggett-Owens.
Walter P. Biggett's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and strength to those he leaves behind.
