Walter Crosby Obituary

Walter E. Crosby, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Shrewsbury on September 3, 2025, on his own terms and surrounded by his family. He was 87.

Walter worked for many years at General Motors before his retirement. His life was defined not by work, but by the love he shared with those around him.

For 65 years, Walter was the beloved husband of Grace, the love of his life. Together they built a life filled with devotion and joy. Summers were spent relaxing by the pool, with friends and family. As well as spending their winters in Florida, creating cherished memories taking their grandchildren to Disney World.

Walter had a lifelong love for golf. He not only enjoyed playing but also served as the longtime starter at Marlborough Country Club, where he greeted generations of golfers with warmth and kindness and met many treasured friends there. At home, he found comfort in familiar routines-watching golf on television, enjoying movies, and tuning in to the evening news each night. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved the New England Patriots.

He leaves behind his loving wife Grace; their son, Frank Crosby and his wife Cindy of Holden; his grandchildren Jayson Crosby, Amanda Morse, Aubrie Crosby, Alyssa and Connor Andrews. As well as his great-grandchildren Russell and Leo Crosby, who brought him joy in his later years. His brother Donald Crosby of Florida and many lifelong friends, nieces and nephews survive him. Predeceased by his daughter Tammy Andrews and his grandson Daniel Morse and brother Raymond Crosby.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lupus Foundation of America (https://www.lupus.org/) in memory of his daughter Tammy.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 PM at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury (kindly go directly to the church). Burial will take place at a later date.
