Richard J. "Satch" Weir, Jr., 69, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, August 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Worcester and raised in Northborough, Rick graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in 1974 and later attended Quinsigamond Community College. In 1976, Rick began a long and successful career at Data General. He remained with the company through its many transitions-from EMC to Dell-ultimately retiring as a Management Data Steward in 2022.

Rick met the love of his life, a beautiful Italian woman named Linda A. Leone, and the two were married on June 15, 1985, at St. Anne's Church. They made their home in Shrewsbury, where they raised their children and built a life full of love, laughter, and shared memories over 40 wonderful years.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Rick had a deep love for music. He pursued his passion by becoming a DJ and co-founding a local entertainment business with a close friend. Together, they brought music and joy to countless parties, dances, and weddings throughout the community. A devoted New England sports fan, Rick had an encyclopedic knowledge of teams and players, always ready with the latest stats and updates.

Above all, Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 40 years, Linda A. (Leone) Weir; his sons, Matthew J. and Jeffrey M. Weir, both of Millbury; his daughter, Julianne E. Medeiros, and her husband Kevin of Charlton; and two cherished grandchildren, Calvin and Olivia Medeiros. He also leaves behind five siblings: Jeannine Ross and her husband Mel of Oxford, Laurene Nichols and her husband Bruce of West Boylston, Stephen Weir and his wife Nancy of Franklin, Eileen MacQueen and her husband Cal of Boylston, and John Weir and his wife Lynne of Sterling; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Richard J. Weir, Sr., and Mary E. (Morgan) Weir; and his mother-in-law, Joan E. (Taylor) Leone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) via www.theaftd.org/donate or by mail to: AFTD, 2700 Horizon Drive, Suite 120, King of Prussia, PA 19406.

Family and friends are invited to gather and remember Rick during visiting hours from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Rick will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, humor, and the love he shared so generously with all who knew him.
