Walter "Walt" L. Egerter Jr.
June 29, 1956 – November 4, 2025
Walter "Walt" L. Egerter Jr., 69, of Westminster Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, after a brief battle with kidney disease.
Walt was born on June 29, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Walter and Mildred Egerter. He grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Perry High School in 1974. In 1990, Walt moved to Colorado, where he continued raising his son and built a life filled with family, friendship, and laughter.
A proud Pittsburgh native, Walt was a lifelong fan of his hometown teams-especially his beloved Steelers. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time outdoors, but his greatest joy came from being "Grandpa" to his grandchildren, Jordyn and Carter. Whether cheering them on at their activities or simply spending time together, those moments brought him endless happiness.
Walt is survived by his son, Eric (Cassie) Egerter; his grandchildren, Jordyn and Carter Egerter; his sister, Judi (Mark) Palastro; nephew, Nick Palastro, niece, Kim (Steve) Miller and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter L. Egerter Sr., and Mildred (Helbling) Egerter.
A celebration of Walt's life will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, 2pm, at Rundus Funeral Home in Broomfield, Colorado, with a reception to follow at Bender's Bar and Grill at 3:30pm in Westminster, Colorado. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing the stories that made him so special.
Walt will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His warmth and laughter will be greatly missed, but the memories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort to all who knew him.
