One of my first memories of Walt was hanging out with him, Joe and art Mason. Was in the Mason's basement and Fly Like an Eagle was on. They were doing body work on a car and Joe was using a flame torch to cut metal out of a toolbox so he could do somebody work with it. Time really does just keeps slipping into the future. I love Waltz thoughtfulness, enthusiasm, and the fact that nothing ever really kept them down. You'll be missed especially when we all get together at the restaurants.

I was shocked to hear of Walt´s passing. My heartfelt condolences to his daughter Chrissy and son Walter 3rd. I have several memories of Walt. I have two favorites I´d like to share. I used to help him rebuild several Chevy/Pontiac engines in his parents garage way back in the day. One time we pulled a stock 6 cylinder engine out of his 1968 Firebird convertible with an automatic transmission, we rebuilt a big block 454 cubic inch engine with 3 carburetors (3 duces) with a four speed manual transmission and a posi rear end. It was a lot of work and was worth the effort. That 68 Firebird was an extremely powerful old school muscle car. It was the best mechanical experience I ever had with Walt. Walt was an awesome auto mechanic hands down. His mechanical aptitude was exceptional. It was a tremendous learning curve for me.
The second good memory I have is when we were in the same "Shop Class" together in High school. I didn´t know the answer to one of the math equations on a test we were given in that class. I whispered to him wanting the answer to one of the questions. He then wrote something down on a piece of paper and handed it to me. It wasn´t the answer. It was the equation to get the answer. I said WTH Walt? He said "There´s the equation, figure it out yourself!" Well, I got the answer wrong anyway! I´ll never forget that. He was trying to help me. That was brilliant on his part! We were only 16 years old.
We did MANY things together growing up. Sad to say we lost touch about 3 years ago. I want to believe that Walt´s up there now in heaven complete with both his legs and he´s with his loving mother Emma, who deeply cared for him. May you rest in eternal peace brother.
