Walter "JR" Milton Estill Jr., 48, of Manchester, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1977, in Chattanooga, TN, to Kim Gannaway and Jeanetta Louise Hudson.
JR was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a big heart and a deep love for his family, extending his care to all his children's friends, whom he treated as his own. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a talented handyman who loved building things, especially patios, stonework, and landscaping, and he took great pride in working with his hands.
A passionate basketball fan, JR loyally followed the Chicago Bulls, with Michael Jordan being his favorite player. He also enjoyed watching movies and was a fantastic cook, known for his famous BLT sandwiches and his love for creating dishes inspired by shows like "Man vs. Food." He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to family, and his warm spirit.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Nichole Estill; his parents, Kim Gannaway and Jeanetta Louise Hudson; his children, Kellie-Brooke Conatser (Corey), Katelyn Blake Ashby (Brandon), Jala Brenne Alison Castellon (Chris), Briley Hannah Jade Fanton (Andrew), and Marshall Christopher Branson Estill; and his grandchildren, Ayden Tucker, Oakleigh Ashby, Brue Ashby, and Marseli Castellon. He is also survived by his siblings, Phillip Gannaway, Chase Gannaway, Nathan Cook, and Tommy Cook, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bailee Craig; his brothers, Michael Cook and Christopher Cook; his brother-in-law, Thomas Brandon Hill; and his grandmother, Martha Hudson. A visitation will be held at Manchester Funeral Home on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM.
