GIANCOLA, JR., WALTER J. passed away on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 at the age of 77. Beloved son of the late Walter J. Giancola Sr. and Marie (nee Cook) Giancola; loving father of Craig (Gayle) Giancola, Lisa Giancola, Anthony (Maggie) Giancola, Vincent (Mandy) Giancola and Mary (Bryan) Hopper; dearest grandfather of Jacob, Brett, Chase Giancola, Brody Smith, Jameson, Danika, Giovanni and Avonna Giancola, Olivia Hopper and one grandchild on the way; our dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Walter was born on November 26, 1947, and from that day forward, the world was blessed with a man who knew how to work hard, love deeply, and appreciate the finer things in life-like his family, good music, and Bruce Lee movies.
Walter was the definition of a devoted family man. He adored his children and cherished his grandchildren, spoiling them in the way only a grandpa can-sneaking them treats and telling them stories their parents wouldn't approve of. His love for his family was rivaled only by his love for the Doobie Brothers, and if you ever rode in his car, you knew that the volume knob only turned one way-up.
A hardworking businessman, Walter took pride in providing for his loved ones. He tackled life with determination and a sense of humor that made even the toughest days a little easier. He believed in working hard but also in enjoying the ride-preferably with a good song playing and a Bruce Lee movie queued up for later. (He probably figured that if the business world ever got too rough, he'd just channel his inner martial arts master.)
Though he may no longer be here in person, Walter's legacy lives on in the laughter, love, and slightly offbeat music tastes he's passed down to his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a collection of great tunes, and probably a few well-worn VHS tapes of Enter the Dragon.
Walter, you were one of a kind, and we wouldn't have had you any other way. We'll keep the music loud for you. Let's go fishing!
A memorial gathering will be held for Walter on Saturday, March 15th from 12-3pm at HUTCHENS-STYGAR FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTER, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Charles, MO 63304.

Walter and I worked at Emery. Have a lot of good memories partying and going to Mardi Gras.
He was always smiling and laughing. A very special man.
