Walter Griesbach
Walter "Walt" Griesbach, age 82, of Lawrence Park, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, joining his first wife, Pamela Jean Gradler Griesbach, and the rest of his deceased family in eternity. He was born in Erie on September 3, 1942, son of the late Charles and Catherine "Dot" Montgomery Griesbach.
Walt is survived by his wife, Joan Barnett Kridler Griesbach; his son, Walter "Todd" Griesbach (Marcie); his daughter, Kira Reneé Brown (Jeff); his two grandsons, Chase and Zachary Brown; stepdaughters, Erica Kridler, Kristen Wild (Jay) and Amy Hansmann (Kurt); step-grandchildren, Madeline, Grace and Will; and his brother, Gary Charles Griesbach (Annette) of McKinney, TX; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Walt was a 1960 graduate of Lawrence Park High School and studied at Grove City College and furthered his education at Gannon University, where he received his BA in Business Administration. He retired as the Accounts Payable Manager after holding several positions in his 37 year career with General Electric. Walt also worked for over 20 years with the Dusckas Funeral Home, Doyle Security, Rupp Limousine Service as well as serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Locomotive and Control Credit Union.
Walt served with the US Army during the Vietnam Era, assigned to their Accounting Division in Anchorage, AK. He loved to travel extensively, especially with his cousins. He was a member of Perry-Keystone Lodge #392 F & AM.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Sunday, September 15th, from 3 to 7 pm with a service to be held by the Perry Keystone Lodge #392 F & AM at 6:30 pm. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Monday, September 16th, at 10 am. A private interment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of PA, 1001 State Street, Suite 502, Erie, PA 16501.
