Walter J. Kirkpatrick, 78, of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2023. He was born April 21, 1945, to the late Charles and Helen (Calvin) Kirkpatrick in Kirkersville, Ohio.
Walt was a man you just couldn't help but to like. He knew no strangers and had a personality that was larger than life. He always had a kind word, a handshake, or a hug, and a smile for everyone he knew or met for the first time. He was a proud member of the Richland Road Church of Christ
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Helen Kirkpatrick, his brothers Ralph (Ginny) Kirkpatrick and Roy Lee Kirkpatrick, Sr., his sister Dolores (Kenny) Rardon, his nephew Roy Lee (Cheryl) Kirkpatrick, Jr., and his wife MaryAnn (Haines) Kirkpatrick.
He is survived by his daughter Marsha (Glenn) Taylor and stepdaughter Ginger (Gene) Sergent. His grandchildren Barbara (Sam) Petrey, Daniel Stokes, Michael Stokes, and James (Liz) Stokes. He has 9 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren, 12 step great- great grandchildren, 34 step great-great-great grandchildren, and 1 step great-great-great-great grandchild. A special nephew Charles (Debra) Kirkpatrick of Newark, Ohio, and lots of nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.

Grandpa Walt was a good man. He was always full of humor, enjoyed life, and was positive. I will, and the rest of us, will sorely miss him. He is at rest now with the Lord Jesus Christ and God! May he rest in peace. Love you always!
