Walter E. Kruegel passed away on October 12th, 2025, after a courageous two-year-long battle fighting Pancreatic Cancer. Walt was a man who believed in God, followed Jesus Christ's model, was generous, funny, thoughtful, and lived his life as fully as he could.
Walt was born on July 22, 1961. He had a loving family and a life full of exploration. He traveled to many states and countries, was an Army Veteran, jumped out of airplanes, mined and prospected, found treasure, dived this world's oceans, climbed mountains, and loved dogs and children. Walt's generosity knew no bounds; his humor and gift of creativity touched our world and our lives. His family will tell you that if Walt was known for anything, it was his quirky ability to bring laughter and fun to life. Walt, to any stranger, soon would be a friend.
Walt's pride stemmed from his many accomplishments, and later, as he gained wisdom, Walt became most proud of his children, Joshua Kruegel, Jacob (Jen) Kruegel, Danielle (RJ) Vukovich, Wally Kruegel, and Parker Kruegel, and his five grandchildren: Josie, Jayna, Veyda, Jett, and Vinny. Walt will be deeply missed by his family, including his children, his wife Kamiah, step-son Robert, and his brother Christopher and his brother's wife, Patricia.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in Walter Kruegel's memory at Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ohio. The family requests donations be made in Walter Kruegel's name to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or to St. Jude's in lieu of flowers.
