Walter LeRoy Longcore

Longcore, Walter LeRoy Walter LeRoy Longcore, 96, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He retired from McInerney Spring & Wire after 34 years. Walter liked to travel with his brother and sister-in-law, listen to country music, and watch car racing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Beatrice Longcore; infant son, Roger; brothers, Bob, Ron, Dale, Tom, and Gary Longcore; sister, Lavonne Ingersoll; many in-laws. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Clara; children, Don (Beth) Longcore, Dave Longcore, Sue (Steve) Huizenga, Mark (Sue) Longcore, Walter Jr. (Tammy) Longcore, Jeanne (Bill) Gorton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Bruce (Margaret) Longcore, Larry Longcore; sister, Norma Veltkamp; brothers-in-law, Carl, Marv, and Bob Thome; many nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 28, 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Church, 1200 Alpine Church Rd. Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave, on Monday from 5 to 8 pm, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm. Walter will lie in state one hour prior to mass at the church starting at 10:00 am. The family would like to thank the staff of Edison Christian Life Services for the great care they provided to Walter.
