Walter Warren Prescott was born in Birmingham Alabama, to Benjamin and Grace Prescott on May 15, 1939. He passed away on May 31, 2024, at the age of 85.
Dad is survived by his older Brother Benjamin Prescott, and his wife Linda Prescott, and his younger sister Rochelle Anderson.
He is also survived by his three sons, Don Prescott, Jay Prescott and his wife, Shawn Prescott, also Jonathan Warren Prescott, and his wife Adriana Prescott. In addition, there are his grandchildren; Jason Prescott and is wife, Leah Prescott, Cortney Jernigan, and her husband Zach Jernigan, Dr. Amy Prescott, Paige Evers and her husband Benjamin Evers, Annabel Prescott and last but not least his only great grandchild so far, Finn Prescott.
After dad Graduated High School in Birmingham, he went to Auburn University and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. During college Dad met Janet Douthit, fell in love and they married. Dad took a job with Union Carbide which began a series of transfers, typical of many in the engineering profession. They took a temporary position in Jacksonville Florida, which lasted four months. Next Dad was transferred to Huntsville, Alabama. Then to New Jersey, about 40 miles from New York City. The whole family enjoyed taking occasional trips into New York. After two years there, the family moved to Buffalo, New York, where they experienced snow on a whole different level. Finally, Dad ended up in Deer Park, Texas, still working for Union Carbide. They resided in Deer Park for almost 50 years.
Dad and mom started a new adventure when dad accepted a job in Saudi Arabia with ARAMCO, where they both lived for seven years. Next, they lived and worked on the Island of Curacao, working for Royal Dutch Shell for two years. Then back home to Deer Park. Dad worked for Flour Engineering and Fish Engineering in Houston until he finally retired in 2015. He spent his Golden year with his wife Janet until she passed October of 2023.
Family will receive family and friends during Service at the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
