Walter B. Taylor, Jr., 81

Walter B. Taylor, Jr. died August 20, 2025. He was born January 14, 1944 in Milford, Delaware. A resident of Okeechobee for 55 years, enjoyed watching the history channel and computers. He enjoyed going to the flea market, hunting bargains, loved motorcycles in his younger years, and seeing his grandchildren.

He graduated from Paxon High in Jacksonville, Florida in 1962, he went on to graduate from FSU in 1966. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his father, Walter B. Taylor; mother, Faustina Mahaley; son-in-law, Dennis Raiford, Jr; and brother-in-law, Ray Pascal.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen Taylor, of Okeechobee, Florida; daughters, Corinna Raiford and Kimberly Taylor Adams (Tommy), all of Okeechobee, Florida; seven grandchildren, OlivIa Decker (John), Marshall Comfort (Tara), Mitchell Comfort (Ashley), Matthew Whirls (Montana), Tommy Adams (Samantha), Kara Adams (Robbie Jolly), and Dennis Raiford; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Ernest Moyer, of Gainesville, Florida; aunt, Geniece Ivey, of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Ettinger, James Ettinger (Mary Ann), and Tim Ettinger (Pam), all of Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Dr. Virginia Hall (John), Sylvia Perry (Doug), and Brenda Pascal, all of Pennsylvania.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Buxton Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
