Walter E. Ulry

Walter, a loving husband, father, and grandfather will be remembered as having a faith filled love for God and family.
Born April 18, 1939 in Licking County Ohio, Walter attended the Apostolic Church in Kirkersville Ohio where he meet the love of his life Mary Lela Spiert. Mary and Walter were married and enjoyed 63 years of marriage raising 3 children and seeing 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren added to the family before Mary's death 3 years earlier in the winter of 2022.
Walter spent many years working for the TurnPoint Apostolic Church, where he was a longstanding member of over 40 years in the capacity of grounds keeper mowing on a John Deere tractor, making sure the lawns looked near perfect for Sunday service. He also held the position as the Director of Groveport Kiddie Kollege, going back to school to get his degree and working alongside his wife.
Walter loved fishing, Ohio State Football, and gardening. In his later years he and daughter Angie with her family would raise a large, bountiful garden. He would roll around from his scooter planting, hoeing and supervising.
Walter was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Mary and eldest son Mark. His brothers James, Thomas, and Jerry, sisters Carol Carpenter and Ruth Underwood, parents Cecil and Grace Imogene (Sanford)
Walter is survived by son Philip "PJ" (Mindy) Ulry, daughter Angela (David) Spriggs and daughter in law Dawn Ulry. Siblings Juanita Kidwell, Sally Shirel, Bonnie Jackson, Donald Ulry(Beth), Betty Stein(David) and Susan Altman (Chuck).
The family will hold a graveside service to honor his memory at Union Grove Cemetery Thursday February 6 at 11 am
