Walter M. Vesper

Walter M. Vesper passed away peacefully Friday November 14th at his
Home. He was born December 30, 1934 in Staunton, IL son of Walter P.
And Marie (Zang) Vesper. He married Kathryn Ann Bird June 24th, 1960 in Staunton, IL. Kathryn preceded him in death, August 4th, 2023.
Walter is survived by his 4 children, son Walter Craig (Sherry) Vesper of Joliet,
Daughter Michele (Dr. Ron) Lynch of Jacksonville, son Brad Vesper of Jacksonville, daughter Denise Vesper (Stefan Barnes) of Springfield.
Grandchildren, Nikki Lutz (Justin Willmore), Brett Konrad, Walter Alec (Samantha) Vesper,
Meredith (Cody) Schmidt, Jonathan (Cecilia) Vesper.
Great grandchildren Gavin Lutz, Jaxson and Jenson Konrad, Paizley and Presley Willmore.
He is also survived by Sisters in law Dodie (Randy)Teel and Marylou (Mike) Schmidt,
Nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, sister MaryAnne Dworzynski, daughter in law Kim Vesper, and granddaughter Madison Cooney.
Walter served in the Navy from 1953-1957. He worked at the State Hospital as an engineer for over 35 years, he also had construction and Monument experience. He was a Free Mason for 48 years with Harmony Lodge #3, A.F. & A.M. He was a hard worker who worked 2 jobs, so wife Kathryn could stay home and tend to children and home.
He loved many sports, especially bowling, football, and baseball. He loved watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren partake in all their activities. Dad was a very humble man of little words.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (November 22, 2025) at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Il. where Masonic Services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be held following in Diamond Grove Cemetery where graveside military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.
