Walter Wall Obituary
Mr. Walter Eugene “Gene” Wall, age 62 of Marion, passed away, Wednesday May 29, 2024. A native of McDowell County, he was born on June 20, 1961 to the late Avery Dean Wall and Carolyn Christine Wall.
Gene loved the outdoors. He enjoyed RV camping, especially with the grandkids. He also enjoyed history, sci-fi and traveling across the country. Gene was known by everyone and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Athena Ross Wall; two daughters Ashley Wall (Tyler Causby) and Caitlin Wall Thomason (Dustin Thomason); step daughter, Vanessa Wiig (Brian); one brother, David Dean Wall (Teresa); two sisters, Rebecca Wall Ayers (Michael), Elizabeth Wall-Braunert; twelve grandchildren, Abigail Thompson, Piper Thompson, Finley Thompson, Emersyn Hess, Hailey Causby, Briana Causby, Layla Causby, Aubrey Thomason, Stormy Thomason, Hadley Thomason, Bailey Wiig and Eli Wiig; numerous nieces and nephews; his feline companion Elvis and canine companion Beau.
A receiving of friends will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Beam Funeral Service from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
