Walter Lee Weatherholtz

Walter "Lee" Weatherholtz, age 70, of Elizabeth City, NC died at his home on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Born in Richmond, VA, on August 23, 1954, to the late Cecil Allen Weatherholtz and Alice Marie Downs Weatherholtz, he was the widow of Joyce Anne Weatherholtz.
Lee dedicated many years of his life to serving his country bravely as a U.S. Navy Seal, a commitment that enriched his life, solidifying camaraderie and brotherhood that only such an experience could forge. After retiring from the service, Lee brought his skills to more grounded pursuits by driving trucks for a local farmer. One might say he approached trucking with the precision of a military operation, though probably with a few more laughs along the route, as he was a jokester with the best sense of humor.
Lee was notoriously particular about his yard. His immaculate lawn was the envy of all, never failing to spark compliments at every backyard barbecue. He loved his four-legged companion and his "chosen" family dearly. He was a proud member of William Clarence Jackson VFW Post 6060. To everyone who crossed paths with Lee, he was a gleeful burst of fun and laughter.
Lee is survived by a daughter-in-law, Tricia Webb; six sisters; one brother; two grandsons; a granddaughter and granddaughter, Emily Webb. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Marsha Thurston.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at William Clarence Jackson VFW Post 6060, 1433 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post 6060.
