Wanda R. Barnes, age 85 of East Springfield, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Erie, Pa.
Wanda was born in Erie, Pa on July 27, 1940, the daughter of the late Samuel and Alice (Platz) McCamman.
She worked for many years at Marx Toys in Girard and then at Plastek in Erie. She was a devoted member of the Federated Church in East Springfield where she was a member of the Golden Circle, the Senior Center, WOW Group, volunteered at the WLD Ranch whenever she could, was a member of the Springfield Service Circle, and the Light the Night Group. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #22, Albion, Pa. Wanda enjoyed attending TOPS(Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) meetings with her Sister, Sally and was presently still attending. She enjoyed her flower gardens and mowing her lawn. She was seen many times by community members walking through town to get her exercise. She especially liked spending time with her Grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Barnes who passed away in 2016. She was also preceded by her sister-in-law, Barb McCamman and her brother-in-law, Lionel Foringer.
She is survived by children; Kristin L. Schroll, Robert C. Barnes (Angel), Robin E. Dailey, and Renee Heberle. She is also survived by a sister, Sally Foringer and a brother, Robert McCamman. Her ten grandchildren; Austin, Alissa, Aidan, Gage, Amanda, Michael, Shawn, Kara, John and Luke will miss her very much.
Family and Friends are invited to call at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2 until 6 p.m. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Plucknett of the Federated Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Cemetery.
