Wanda Faye Brooks, 87

Wanda Faye Brooks, 87, of Ellenboro, died Monday, September 22, 2025.

Wanda was the widow of Claude E. Brooks, and a daughter of the late Lee and Willie Ora Stahr. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Applegate; and a brother, Bobby Stanfield. She was a member of Plainview Baptist Church where she served as Women's Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Prayer Warriors.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat Rhymer of Forest City; her sons, Ron Brooks and his wife Atsuko, and George Brooks and his wife Shelly, all of Ellenboro, Jay Brooks and his wife Cindy of Rutherfordton, Tim Brooks and his wife Vicki of Bostic, Jim Brooks of Forest City; her two brothers, Lee Stahr and Jerry Stahr of Chicago, IL; there are 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Friday, September 26, 2025 at Plainview Baptist Church. The Rev. Marshall Dill and Rev. Wayne Toney will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Josh Bumgarner, Tucker Bumgarner, Jordan Brooks, Malachi Earley, Basil Earley, and Elijah Brooks. 

The Visitation will be from 2:30 pm until 3:45 pm Friday at the church prior to the service.
