Wanda Harris of Louisville, Ky Age 91 passed peacefully on 5/15/2025 at Maple Grove Shelbyville, Ky
Born 1934 in Harlan County Ky.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ethel & Martin McGeorge, husband, Estell Harris, sons Roger & Gordon Harris, brothers Martin & Donald McGeorge & sister Phyllis McGeorge-Vermillion.
Left to cherish her loving memory is her daughter, Carolyn Hawkins (Pete Damiani) of TN, grandson; Jonathan Hawkins, Sarasota, Fl, dear family friend Iris Still, Lou. Ky & Ryan & Bernie Harris, great -nephews & families, Ky, Martin McGeorge III, nephew, Lou. Ky, & many nieces & nephews.
Wanda enjoyed the arts & music, & played the piano beautifully. She wrote short stories & poetry, & was quite a sketch artist.
She was proud of her alumni, DuPont Manual High & of her 30 years at GE Appliance Park Model Lab.
Wanda was a brilliant lady & usually had The NY Times crossword completed by 3rd cup of java. Wanda was an avid UK basketball fan, she enjoyed the races at Churchill Downs & going to "the boat" & traveling for fun.
Wanda leaves behind a legacy of helping others and volunteering at church. Wanda supported many medical assistance programs for children.
She was full of spunk & a lot of southern sass & she will be dearly missed.
A private celebration of life will be arranged & held in Berea, Ky, TBA.
