Wanda Houck Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tim Stewart Funeral Home - Lawrenceville on Feb. 19, 2026.
Wanda Marice (Kinslow) Houck, 82, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, entered her eternal rest on

February 17, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1943 in Austin, KY. She is preceded in death by

Kinslow, Elizabeth 'Betty' Ward, Maxine Jackson, Patricia 'Pat' Jones, Basil Wilton Kinslow,

Warner Thomas Kinslow, Jr. 'W.T.', and grandson Andrew Glynn Barge. Wanda is survived by

her husband James 'Jim' Houck, sons Gregory 'Greg' (Karol) Houck of Clemson, SC and Trevor

(Jessica) Houck of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter Shana (Jimmy) Houck Barge of Loganville, GA.

Sister Shirley Guffey of Mahomet, IL. Grandchildren Sean Michael Houck of Seneca, SC,

Sarah Elizabeth Houck of Graham, WA, Trevor 'Griffin' Houck of Norcross, GA, Owen (Abby)

Patrick Houck of Duluth, GA, Emma Jean Barge of Nashville, TN, Nathaniel 'Nathan' (Morgan)

James Barge of Lawrenceville, GA, and Jackson 'Jack' Barge of Loganville, GA, and countless

cousins, nieces, and nephews. For 63 years, Wanda was the devoted wife of Jim, her lifelong husband and best friend. Their marriage was a true testament to love and faithfulness. Together they raised Greg, Trevor, and Shana, who share their mother's deep love for Christ-a reflection of her example and constant

prayers. To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Mimi," a title that brought her

immense joy and pride. A fervent prayer warrior and steadfast believer, Wanda's love of Jesus was apparent in every aspect of her life. She was an active and faithful member of Suwanee Station Family Life

Church in Suwanee, Georgia, where she encouraged others with her words and prayers. Her

faith guided her every step, and her confident spirit uplifted those around her. Wanda's enthusiasm for life extended to her many passions. An avid gardener, she grew vegetables and other plants and flowers for many years. She was a voracious reader-especially of God's Word. She also enjoyed tackling word-find puzzles. Proud of her Scottish and Irish heritage, she faithfully attended the Stone Mountain Highland Games for several decades. Known for her warmth and candor, Wanda never met a stranger. She had a quick wit, a big heart, and always spoke her mind with honesty and humor. Her continued prayers strengthened lives, and her servant's heart was full of hospitality and love. A funeral service to celebrate Wanda's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road SW, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Pastor Derek Watson and Pastor Zack Cole will officiate. Interment will follow at Haynes Creek Cemetery, 3995 Rosebud Road SW, Loganville, Georgia. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
