Ms. Wanda Kay Newman Lingle, 72, of Advance, NC passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home following a long battle with cancer. She was born December 30, 1950 in Forsyth County. Ms. Lingle was a member of Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church in Rural Hall where she sang in the choir and was involved with the youth ministry. She also attended and sang in the choir at Bixby Presbyterian Church. She was active in the United Methodist Women and volunteered in various schools in Forsyth County. Wanda retired from Bocock-Stroud Sporting Goods after 30 years. She loved to decorate for all holidays and send holiday cards throughout the year. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Allen Newman and Maxine Cornatzer Newman. Surviving are her two children, Tamara Levi (Jason) and Jason Lingle (Lillie); the light of her life was her granddaughter, Emersyn Levi (12); two brothers, Mark Newman (Ellen) and George Newman and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt and uncle. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Bixby Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bonita Clark Quandt and Rev. Craig Toth officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. The family would like to extend many thanks to the doctors that have cared for her the past 2 ½ years.
