Wanda Leona Roberts, 80, of Birch Tree, Missouri, passed away on July 4, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 12, 1945, in Mason City, West Virginia, to Victor Roberts and Virgina Fields. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family deeply. Wanda was known for her kindness, her adventurous spirit, and her love of spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping trips, fishing, back-road exploring, gardening, flowering, yard selling, flea marketing, and making her famous popcorn chicken for her loved ones and so much more. She always welcomed everyone with a warm smile, making every house she lived in feel like home. Wanda was the kind of person who could make friends anywhere she went. She never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. She had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Her door was always open. She devoted her life to caring for her family. She was happiest when her house was full of kids, grandkids, and laughter. She loved big family gatherings, holidays, and any excuse to be surrounded by the people she loved most. Wanda took great pride in her flowers and loved spending hours in her yard, making it a welcoming and beautiful space for everyone. Neighbors and family would often see her outside tending her flowers, waving them down with that big smile that could brighten anyone's day. She also had a wonderfully adventurous side. She loved exploring back roads, old houses, and new places. She delighted in taking her kids and grandkids on rock-hunting adventures to search for arrowheads and unique stones, teaching them to appreciate the beauty all around them. She made even root-digging trips in the woods an adventure, filling the time with stories, laughter, and lessons about nature. Wanda's family will always remember the way she'd insist you sit and visit awhile, even if you were in a hurry and how she'd always find a way to make you laugh. She had a great sense of humor. She also loved to stay connected, even if it meant calling someone in the family at all hours of the day. She was a woman of strong spirit and big heart. Wanda believed in loving fiercely, laughing often, and never giving up on family. She taught by example how to be kind, generous, and unafraid to be yourself. Wanda is survived by her children, Tina Garner (Rick), Stephanie Griffith, and Victor Griffith (Sandy); her sister, Connie Walton; brother, Ronnie Roberts; ten grandchildren, Sylvia Roberts, Sandy Edwards, John Garner, Misty Shoup, Dustin Garner, Amanda Rhodes, Kailee Sisco, Graci Sisco, Thomas Ellison, Samantha Diaz, Scott Jenkins and Shawn Jenkins; as well as an abundance of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Roberts and Virgina Fields; and her brothers, Larry Roberts and Lou Roberts. Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. Her memory will be treasured forever by those lucky enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, the lessons she taught and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Brake officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
