Wanda Irene Waldrop Rountree, 87, passed away on November 6, 2024, at Medical Center of Arlington in Arlington, Texas.  She was born on October 02, 1937, in Decatur, Texas to Samuel Otis and Viva Mae Waldrop.

Wanda grew up in Decatur, Texas.  She graduated from Decatur High School in 1956.  After high school she went to work for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas.  In 1969 she received her diploma from All Saints Episcopal Hospital School of Vocational Nursing.  In 1977 she received her Certification as a Registered Nurse.  She worked at various hospitals in the area until retiring in 1997. 

Wanda married Oscar Lee Rountree in 1957 in Decatur, Texas.  They were married for 66 years.  She enjoyed playing bingo and working around the house.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, and half-sisters Margaret Gill and Olivia Grisham.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Sammye (husband David) Fish of Kennedale, Texas, son, Stan (wife Karen) Rountree of Kennedale, Texas, her brother Glen (Barbara) Waldrop, half-sister Ollie Ruth Swisher, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale, Texas, Thursday, November 14th at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale, Texas, Wednesday, November 13th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
