Wanda Sue Shelton Cornelius, 77, of Stanford, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was previously married to Carl Morgan for 10 years. She was the widow of the late Ted Cornelius. Ted raised the five children like they were his own and was a loving father. Born February 1, 1946 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, Wanda was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith Singleton Shelton. She worked as a cook in the restaurant business for many years. She received great pleasure in assuring each person received a wonderfully prepared meal. Wanda enjoyed gardening, sewing, working puzzles, and playing bingo and just spending time with her family.
Survivors Include:
Five Children
Daughter, Kathy (Bobby) Lane of Mt. Holly, North Carolina
Daughter, Carla (Dale) Howell of Dallas, North Carolina
Daughter, Jeanie (Carlton) Hall of Lancaster, Kentucky
Daughter, Janet (Allen) Edgington of Lancaster, Kentucky
Son, David (Marie) Morgan of Lancaster, Kentucky
One Brother, Gary Shelton
Nine Grandchildren,
Eddie Howell, Ashley Lane Fikes, Kristen Lane McCaskill, Amy Edgington Gaffney, Joseph Allen Edgington, Casey Morgan, Aiden Foley, Reagan Lowery, and Loxley Morgan
Eight Great-Grandchildren
Eli, Jon, Ali, Stetson, Christian, Katie, Preston, and JJ
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Edith Singleton Shelton, as well as her Husband, Ted Cornelius, and seven siblings, Bernice and Edna Shelton, Chester, Paul, Kenneth and Bobo Shelton and Donnie Lee Shelton, who died as a infant.
A public visitation will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel at 229 Main Street, Crab Orchard, Kentucky 40419
Officiating Minister, Bro. Andy Dixon
A private Funeral & Burial will be held at a later date.
