Wanda Marie (Wagner) Carpenter, age 61, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. Wanda was born in York, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, August 2, 1962, to the late Lillian (Topper) Ball. She married her longtime companion, Allen Brown, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2013.
Wanda’s survivors include her husband, Allen Brown; her four children: Jessica “Jess” Carpenter of Mechanicsburg; Caleb Brown and his wife, Nikki, of Mifflintown; Derek Brown and his wife, Heather, of Dillsburg; Jennifer “Jen” Reynolds and her husband, Derrick, of Middletown; her 4 grandchildren: Sadie; Waylon; Conrad; Lainey; her four siblings: Jimmy Wagner; Michael Fitzgerald; Elaine Wagner; Tori Ball; and her beloved canine companions: Cassie and Layla.
Wanda graduated from Spring Grove High School as part of the class of 1981. She worked for Rite Aid in their corporate office for 38 years working most recently as the Manager for Travel, Events, and Meetings. She thrived in her career and made many life-long friends there. Wanda had a green thumb, and strove to take excellent care of her potted plants and flowers. She religiously watched Penn State football, and knew everything about the team. Her passion was contagious, and her family enjoyed watching her watch the games. Spending time with family was what Wanda loved most. She brought people together by cooking family meals. Wanda adored her grandchildren, her dogs, and weekend shopping, as a self-confessed “shopaholic” with her daughters. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
