Wanda Gail Woodal, age 78, of Needmore, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Born, Wednesday, May 1, 1946, in Baltimore, MD., she was the daughter of the late Dale E. Harvey and Hilda Hejl (Wilson).
Wanda attended Sparrows Point High School in Edgemere, MD. She was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for Vanguard Products Corporation in Berkeley Springs, WV. Wanda was considered the “Neighborhood Mom”. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome, loved, and valued, no matter the circumstances. Her warm presence and kind soul made her a cornerstone of her family and she was cherished deeply. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her legacy of love, kindness and dedication to family will never be forgotten.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Woodal, whom she married March 4, 1978; two sons, Scott Runyon and partner Kim Barnett of Joppa, MD and Mark Runyon and partner Dawn Barnhart of Needmore, PA; two daughters, Bridgett Runyon Akers and husband Keith of Bel Air, MD, and Nicole Mancuso and partner Guy Swope of Needmore, PA; two sisters, Linda Pappas of Parkville, MD, and Dora Pinder of Easton, MD; two brothers, Richard Harvey, Sr. and wife Ellen of Chambersburg, PA and Joseph Harvey, Sr. and wife Peggy of Needmore, PA. She had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she adored.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son George W. Runyon, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11:00a.m. with one hour visitation prior at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home. Reverend Dick Bernhard will officiate. Committal service will follow at Union Cemetery, 17591 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
