Obituary

Warner Collins was born on February 12, 1968, in New Orleans, LA to Corrine Reed. He departed this life on Nov. 5, 2025, surrounded by love.

Warner was a proud graduate of Alfred Lawless High School where he excelled academically, graduating as valedictorian of his high school-Class of 1986. His dedication and excellence were personally recognized by Mayor Marc Morial, who honored him with his diploma on live television -a moment that reflected Warner's drive, determination, and the bright spirit that defined his life.

Warner had a passion for cooking, especially when it came to his famous gumbo, a dish that brought family and friends together. Warner loved football. He played on the football team in the Marines, "Go Dawg" #24. He enjoyed being involved in youth football, especially supporting his son and encouraging young players in the community. Warner was a diehard New Orleans Saints Fan yelling "Who Dat?"-black and gold.

Warner's life was filled with laughter, faith, and resilience. He was known for his humor, his warmth, and his favorite saying: "Nothing beats a failure but to try.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Alfred Taylor, and his adopted parents, Amanda Collins Jacko and Jerry Collins.

Warner leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Corrine Reed, his loving children Warner Collins Jr., Wynton Collins, and Kierra Taylor, his cherished grandchildren Alfred Taylor III, Khaleel Jones, Deion Cooper and Karson Taylor, his devoted sisters Kizzy Green (Charles Jr.) and Kimyatta Williams (Simeon), Lashawn Sanders (Sydney) and his brother Edgar Williams III (Tanya), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Through God's grace, Warner found peace and received the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to share in his journey.
