Warnie "Joe" Gillespie, 62, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away on February 18, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Born on February 9, 1963, in Middletown, Ohio, Joe was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
A man of deep faith, Joe lived with kindness, generosity, and integrity, always striving to uplift those around him. Whether through a well-timed joke, a helping hand, or words of encouragement, he had a gift for bringing joy to others. His bold sense of humor and sharp comebacks made him unforgettable, and his love for his family and friends was the foundation of his life.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Glossip Sr.; his brother, Jerry Glossip Jr.; and his son, Tyler Gillespie. He is survived by his loving mother, Faye Glossip; his sister, Angela Caskey, and her husband, Jon, along with their children, Jonathan and Madison Caskey; and his fiancée, Jessica Abney, and her children, Gunner, Savannah, and Sophia Crase, whom he cherished as his own. He also leaves behind his beloved daughters, Sydney and Hannah Gillespie-Smith. His nephews, Tristin Glossip, Nathan Glossip and his wife, Kaylee, along with their daughter, Emelia, Joe's granddaughter, and Chance Glossip, will forever carry his love and memory in their hearts.
Joe also held a special place in his heart for Anthony "Twan" Fitzpatrick, whom he loved as a son, and Ashley Hilt, whom he loved like a daughter, along with her children, Brooklyn Abigail Lakes and Briley Joseph Hilt. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to shine through the many lives he touched. His memory will forever be cherished by his extended family and dear friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joe's life at a visitation on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St, Germantown, OH 45327. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, with burial at Woodhill Cemetery, 6228 Hamilton-Middletown Rd, Franklin, OH 45005.
Joe's warmth, humor, and love left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in the laughter, stories, and love he shared with those around him.
