Warren Klebig Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buswell Funeral Home on Oct. 22, 2024.
Warren C. Klebig, 82, of Black River Falls, passed away October 16, 2024 at the VA Medical Center in Madison, WI. Warren was the son of Elroy and Berniece (Hanke) Klebig of Taylor. He grew up in the Blair-Taylor area and graduated from Taylor High School in 1960. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 20 years. His first assignment was Washington D. C. From there, he served in Vietnam, Michigan, Illinois, California, and finally Texas, where he retired. He spent 40 years in Texas working for the Surgeon General of the Air Force and the VA Medical Center in the computer field.
In 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Loasching). They were married 62 years, and had one son, Mark (Mary) of Schertz, TX; a granddaughter Terryl Winter and husband Walker, and two great grandsons, Grant and Carter, all of Pearland, Texas. He is survived by his sister Sharon and husband Terry O'Brien, Aunt Janice Tranberg and special Godson, Logan Matson. He is further survived by numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and many other relatives whom he loved dearly.
He was pre-deceased by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Matson and Lois Hilts; brother Gail Klebig, niece Katie O'Brien, and nephew Carter Hilts.
Warren was very involved in many religious and community activities. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Parish Council. He also was a lifetime member of the VFW, member of the Hanson-Lien American Legion Post 368, served as District Director of PONY (Protect Our National Youth) baseball, and a life member of the Taylor Rod & Gun Club. He also served as a board member on the Schertz (Texas) Housing Authority.
Warren was a people person. He enjoyed family time playing cards, dice – having potlucks and just having family gatherings. He loved deer and turkey hunting and was successful as a bear hunter. He also loved his late-night fishing trips to Lake Wazee.
Funeral Services will be held on November 2nd, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Black River Falls, with visitation at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the church. Following the luncheon, the burial will be at the Sechlerville Cemetery, Hixton.
Memorials can be made to the Taylor Museum Building Fund, Tunnels to Towers, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Rest in peace, Warren; we all love and miss you!
